Web Technologies Online Instructor

IMMEDIATE POSITION AVAILABLE!
We are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals, with exceptional knowledge of web techniques and technologies, to teach online classes on an as-needed, contract basis (W-9/1099 basis).
The instructor will teach students the technologies used to create dynamic content for the Web using server and client-side scripting and programming languages including PHP, ASP.NET, AJAX, JavaScript, DHTML, XHTML and CSS.
There are multiple courses available to teach. Classes average 20 hours per class, 4 to 5 days each, and begin at 7:30 or 8:00 am EST.
Individuals with strong skills in multiple areas will have the opportunity to teach multiple types of classes. Curriculum development work may also be available for select technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Lecture to students and assist students with queries and requests for additional information
- Support and cultivate the student’s acquisition of knowledge and skills
- Ensure high student retention of curriculum
- Participate in review/coordination meetings if requested
- Provide feedback with respect to enhancing the quality of the course
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of JavaScript (for JavaScript class)
- Extensive knowledge of DHTML techniques (for JavaScript class)
- Extensive knowledge of DOM (for JavaScript class)
- Extensive knowledge of ASP.NET(for ASP.NET and AJAX class)
- Extensive knowledge of AJAX (for ASP.NET and AJAX class)
- Extensive knowledge of PHP (for PHP class)
- Extensive knowledge in XHTML web development
- Extensive knowledge in CSS and Web Standards
- An understanding of validation and document type definitions
- Good design and layout skills Knowledge of Flash, Flash integration, and ActionScript 3.0 helpful
- Knowledge of server-side integration helpful
Training:
- Minimum of three years experience designing, developing, and producing web applications **This is mandatory!
- Bachelor Degree preferred
Skills Needed:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Previous training experience, preferably web-based delivery **Preferred
- Self-motivated team member
Location: Any location. The classes are web based and you will be required to use YOUR phone. Must have your own XP computer, internet connection and own phone plan to accommodate the hours you will be teaching.
Compensation: Starting at $25/hour - BOE
This is a part-time contract job. Average of 2 classes or 32 hours per month.
